Top 10 Records of 2011: Jort Vdv (Sweet Empire)

Getting all European now! We've got the lovely Jort from Sweet Empire chiming in with his favourite records that were released this year. I was going to post Giles' list but he cheated because the ONSIND and State Lottery records came out in 2010. Cheater.

So we've got a lovely Dutchman bringing in some truths!

Yo!
I made a nice top ten for 2011 for you.
It was hard as hell but here goes, incl. some catchphrases for the albums.
Hope to see you in Jan/Feb when we come over again!? And hope to see lots of Sweet Empire's This Season Needs Torches in other people's top 10 haha.
Cheers,
Jort

1. Dauntless Elite - More Bloody Bad News
Catchy as hell, nice poppy guitar lines, can't resist to sing along to.

2. Crazy Arm - Union City Breath
Musically and textually outstanding work.

3. The Slow Death - Born Ugly Got Worse
I dare to say Off With Their Heads' sound has been improved.

4. Fights & Fires - Proof That Ghosts Exist
For the hard rocking evenings drinking whisky.

5. The Horrible Crowes - Elsie
For the quiet evenings drinking whisky.

6. Banquets - Top Button Bottom Shelf
One of the best punk rock vocalists at the moment in my opinion and, again, catchy as hell.

7. The Copyrights - North Sentinel Island
Great sing-a-long pop punk, with a metal sounding intro to the album.

8. House Boat - The Thorns Of Life
Great sing-a-long pop punk, without a metal sounding intro.

9. Swingin’ Utters - Here, Under Protest
Back with an amazing album, one of their best to date I reckon.

10. Bangers - Small Pleasures
No explanation needed I hope, just a great album.

Honorable mentions:
And So I Watch You From Afar - Gangs
Bratpack - Stupidity Returns
Caves - Homeward Bound
The Computers - This Is...
Great Cynics - Don't Need Much
The Living Daylights - What Keeps You Breathing
